SOFTWARE LIBRE PROJECT

With SOFTWARE LIBRE PROJECT
our goals are to
- empower start-ups by providing them otherwise impossible to reach software technologies.
- provide access to unmodified original GPL software to the general public and start-up community, at an affordable price, for testing and development purposes.
- help you start, grow, and survive tough times, through use of publicly-available software technologies, 100% legally.
- provide creative individuals and agencies with an affordable sandbox dev environment.
We also do help teachers teach, and students learn the technology of tomorrow for FREE! *We do provide FREE access to our community library of GPL liberated software to non-private Educational Institutions! (contact us)
We do have an affiliate program, so consider becoming our partner for a great opportunity to grow with us!
Yes, it is.
The DNA of the General Public License reads – free to redistribute (and one should think of “free” as in “free speech”, and not in “free beer”).
We re-distribute the software without original developer support, no auto-updates too, and this is all you’re allowed to pay for when you buy a “license” for GPL software.
Here you pay for access and NOT for the software itself.
All our prices are PWYW (Pay what you want/Name your price) based. We give everyone the freedom to decide how much they can contribute the community, while still saving huge by purchasing support-free and auto-update-free original software, at the fraction of the cost.
Actually, falsely-advertised time-limited premium support services for GPL software that developers sell you nowadays as “License Code” is much more unethical, because their software is based on the General Public License itself, and one can not sell “license codes” for a GPL product.
The real unethical part comes from the falsely-advertised need of a “license code”, which leads the customer to believe that he is actually obligated to buy a license to use the software, while in fact he already has that right granted by mother GPL.
According to the GPL definition such software is obligated to remain free, as in free to use also.
GPL also means that the software must be free, as in free to redistribute too.
Since most developers do not actually understand how GPL works, or understand, but try to profit by falsely-advertised license systems, and do not provide free access to their GPL based products, the SOFTWARE LIBRE PROJECT came to change that. And remember, it is free as in “free speech”, and not as in “free beer”, so donations is what we ask for.
First and foremost – SOFTWARE LIBRE PROJECT is the fundraising branch of our network of open and ad-free public projects, which we are developing to help turn our planet into a better place. So by joining our community, you’re actually helping a whole public-focused ecosystem grow – how cool is that?
- green.bg – is our most ambitious free platform that helps local producers and artisans reach their customers directly, and commission-free. We’re providing farmers, start-ups, small-business and individual artisans with a free and easy to use progressive web app that helps them set up their own localhost web-page, add products to a passive classifieds style publicly-searchable and location-aware web directory.
- bee112.bg – is an open community driven platform that helps beekeepers record incident cases of bees being victim of chemical poisonings. The goal of this project is to help keep a time-based record log to help the beekeeping community analyse the cases. As well as to rise the public awareness about the problems that modern bees encounter, while trying to survive the human world.
- vodichka.bg – is an open and free(ad-free too) community-powered database of natural water springs. Main goal of the project is to serve as a public-accessible database of natural water springs, and as well as an online and publicly accessible archive of official analysis logs provided by government-owned Regional Health Inspectorates(RHI/RZI are only required to answer requests for publicly accessible data for analysis logs made 5 years prior to the request date, this means that the public cannot access logs that are older than 5 years. We changed that – keeping logs safe since 2014!
- prinos.bg – is an open and free(ad free too) community-powered platform for managing volunteer initiatives. It is a place where anyone can start an initiative and invite volunteers to it.
- biser.bg – is an inspiration portal with quotes from GPL/CreativeCommons authors.
- and there are more things, but we are still not talking about ’em yet.
Second, we are an active donor to the FREE SOFTWARE FOUNDATION.
Third, we do provide FREE access to students, teachers, schools and universities around the globe! (contact us)
AND, we do actually buy and own a growing pile of original developer issued licenses
(though we are NOT redistributing developer support. In case of support required, we actually encourage you to purchase a support license directly from the developers.)
ALSO, we love innovation, sharing, and believe in the GNU/GPL philosophy.
SO, if you find a reason not to join our community, please let us know about it, and we might find a fix for you, so you can still enjoy the SOFTWARE LIBRE PROJECT!
